This page explains how The Esports Library decides what to publish, where our information comes from, and what we do when we get something wrong. If you think we have got something wrong, the short version is: email hello@theesportslibrary.com and we will look at it.
Patch notes, meta shifts, roster and balance changes, betas, and the guides and tutorials that come out of playing these games ourselves — currently Apex Legends, League of Legends, Overwatch and Valorant.
We are not a rumour site. If we cannot point at where something came from, we would rather not run it.
We correct mistakes. We do not quietly delete them.
If something we published is factually wrong — a wrong number, a wrong name, a wrong date, a mechanic that does not work the way we said it does — we fix the article and add a note at the bottom saying what was wrong, what it says now, and when we changed it. That note stays there permanently. We do not edit an error out of a piece and pretend it was never there.
Two things are not corrections and are not marked as such:
Email hello@theesportslibrary.com with a link to the article and what specifically is wrong. A source helps but is not required: if you are right, the work of checking is ours, not yours.
We aim to reply within a few working days. We are a small team, and we would genuinely rather be told we are wrong than be left wrong. If we conclude something is not an error, we will tell you why rather than ignore the email.
Guides and tutorials are living documents. When a patch changes something we have written about, we revise the article rather than leave it stale, and the date on the article reflects when it was last brought up to date. Where the change is substantial — a character reworked, a strategy that no longer works — we note what changed and when.
The Esports Library is a small independent team, not a network property. We are working towards a named byline on every article; until that lands, editorial responsibility for everything published here sits with the site's editor, reachable at the address above. Where an article is written by a contributor or a guest, it will say so.
Nobody pays for coverage. Advertisers, sponsors and supporters have no say in what we write, what we score, or whether a story runs. Advertising is handled separately and is described on the Advertise with Us page.
Reader support through supporter subscriptions funds the site. Supporters get features on the site. They do not get influence over coverage.
If an article contains an affiliate or referral link, that article discloses it. If we have any other relationship with a company we are writing about, we say so in the piece itself.
Reviews are based on playing the game, and we say roughly how long we played and on what platform. If a copy, key or piece of hardware was provided free by a publisher, the review says so.
Being given a copy does not buy a score. We do not accept conditions on a review — no copy approval, no agreed score, no questions submitted in advance.
Articles here are written and edited by people. We do not publish machine-generated articles, and we do not use generated imagery in place of real screenshots or art. A tool that checks spelling or suggests a tidier sentence is fine; a tool writing the piece is not.
Corrections, complaints, tips and questions all go to hello@theesportslibrary.com.
