Valorant – Riot’s new 5v5 tactical FPS Shooter, currently in beta, ranked mode has gone live. It was confirmed coming in a tweet by @playValorant.
The patch went live for NA servers on April 30th @4:30am with servers coming back online at around 12pm PT. The Patch for EU is currently being rolled out and ranked will be coming to EU sometime on May 1st.
Here’s How Ranked Mode will Work
Ranked mode will utilize the same format as unranked; First to 13 with a sides switching after 12 rounds.
- To unlock ranked, you will have to play 20 matches of unrated
- There are 8 ranks (3 tiers each except the top rank, VALORANT ) in total see the breakdown below
- You can queue in 5 player parties and each player must be within 2 ranks (6 tiers) of each other
- There is no rank decay
- Closed beta rank will not carry over to the full launch
Ranks Breakdown
The first 7 ranks are divided in to three tiers:
Iron -> Bronze -> Silver -> Gold -> Platinum -> Diamond -> Immortal
The top rank will be awarded to the top 500 players in a given region (for the beta NA and EU). Early evaluation of your rank will depend on you personal performance level with later games in the season being wins. There is a bonus applied to successive wins and great performance although Riot has not released details on this will specifically work.
If you do not play rank for 14 days, your rank will be hidden (rank will not decay) and will be shown to you after your first match back.
Progression outside of ranked mode is also currently being worked on by Riot and more details will be made as available.
